With limited budget and design details, the images needed to demonstrate the quality of Populous' masterplan concept, promote the brand and convey the emotion and excitement of the Games from both the perspective of athletes and spectators, together experiencing the atmosphere, beauty and diversity of this spectacular destination.
Sri Lanka has a unique and compelling story to tell, and their bid will act as a catalyst in the island’s post-conflict and tsunami reconstruction. Their Games vision and long term development plans are intrinsically linked to their aspiration to develop Hambantota as a new city, to inspire and regenerate the local area and position Sri Lanka on the international stage.

"Having worked successfully with Realm on the bid images for London 2012, confident of their experience and expertise in this field, it was a natural choice to commission them for Hambantota's bid. Their experience in handling this type of work meant they immediately grasped the brief and were really easy to work with throughout. Yet again they delivered real value working within a limited budget, exceeding our expectations with the stunning set of 24 images that were finally submitted."
John Barrow, Principal, Populous
